Nestled in the rugged mountains of Alto Ihuamaca, Finca Cerro el Tigre was founded five years ago by Lisandro Jiménez and his family, who sought to cultivate coffee amidst the rich biodiversity and  wildlife. The farm is home to prized varieties like Bourbon, Catuai,  and Caturra, thriving on the fertile slopes near the Tabaconas NamballeNational Sanctuary. The farm’s name, Cerro el Tigre, is  inspired by the nearby mountain, known for its striking rock formation in hues of orange and black, resembling the majestic tiger  for which the region is named. After observing that the farm’s soil and  climate conditions were ideal for high-quality coffee production, Mr.  Jiménez began planting various coffee varieties. Upon harvesting his  first crop, he sent samples to a laboratory, where a coffee taster’s  analysis revealed outstanding qualities, classifying it as a specialty coffee.
